Professional Analysis LLC (PAI) is seeking an experienced Warehouse Security Guard security services at the Balboa Afloat Transshipment Site (BATS) in support of the Military Sealift Command (MSC) located in San Diego, California.
Position Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing vehicle access control duties, including vehicle inspections prior to entry into the facility. This role requires adherence to established security protocols and the ability to observe and report incidents while providing controlled entry for delivery vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Security & Access Control: Serve at a fixed post to control access to the Balboa Afloat Transshipment Site (BATS), protecting property and personnel from hazards or interference by verifying vehicles are authorized for entry and diverting them if required.
- Perform Administrative Vehicle Inspections (AVI) for all vehicles seeking entry, which includes verifying occupant identification, vehicle registration, and purpose of business.
- Observe and report any security violations or emergencies to the appropriate authority.
- Monitor security systems, including CCTV and gate intercoms, to control vehicle access.
- Maintain accurate vehicle and visitor logs as required by facility procedures.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- A current California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) Guard Card is strongly preferred. If a candidate does not possess one, they must be able to meet the requirements and satisfactorily complete the training immediately as a condition of employment.
- Security experience is preferred.
- Basic computer skills and strong written and verbal communication skills (English) are required.
- All necessary training for security duties will be provided.
- Read and understand documents that are primarily written in English.
California Guard Card Requirements:
To obtain a California Guard Card, candidates must meet the following state-mandated requirements:
- Age: Be at least 18 years old.
- Background Check: Undergo a criminal history background check through the Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI via Live Scan fingerprinting.
- Initial Training (8 Hours): Before assignment, candidates must complete an 8-hour course covering "Power to Arrest" and "Appropriate Use of Force."
- Continuing Training (32 Hours): An additional 32 hours of training on security-related topics must be completed within the first six months of employment.
- Annual Training: An 8-hour refresher course is required annually to maintain the registration.
Work Schedule & Conditions:
- Schedule: Monday to Saturday, Daytime only, 40-hours/week.
- Environment: Commercial warehouse and gate/access control points. Work is primarily conducted from within a covered guard shack with some outdoor activity for inspections.
- Compensation: $19.89 per hour wages plus $5.09 per hour in Health and Welfare fringe benefits.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to reasonably transit and stand while conducting vehicle inspections and document reviews.
- Must be able to primarily operate from within a covered guard shack and independently travel outside distances for several hundred yards over primarily level, paved surfaces.
- Support operating hours, Monday through Saturday from 7 AM to 4:30 PM, scheduled for up to 40 hours per week.
