Position Overview
PAI is seeking a Naval Architect to support U.S. Navy ship engineering, technical planning, shipbuilder coordination, modernization, lifecycle integration, data analysis, and waterfront coordination activities at SUPSHIP / Newport News Shipbuilding. This position supports engineering, mathematical, statistical, data, database, infrastructure, and technical coordination activities.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform engineering, mathematical, and statistical analyses & studies; prepare and present results.
· Use engineering and statistical software to perform analyses; assist in developing tools to perform analyses where none exist.
· Conductand present the results of engineering studies.
· Perform engineering field work.
· Perform data and database quality control & assurance for the eCCIMS, eBCMP, and M&SWP databases, and other sources of data used by the CPA or as assigned.
· Initiate change requests to update data or databases, make changes to data or databases.
· Perform data analytics; run, prepare, present reports on the data & results of the analyses.
· Develop new tools, products, and techniques for managing and displaying data.
· Document new or changes to processes and instructions, develop process guides using Microsoft or other appropriate applications.
· Respond to data calls and queries from internal & external stakeholders.
· Schedule, host, and administrate meetings; Face-to-Face, telephone, or virtually via online connection.
· Present (brief) at meetings.
· Transfer data from external sources, paper or electronic, into CPA databases and sources of data.
· Perform data entry.
· Perform document reviews.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Civil Engineering, Corrosion Engineering, Materials Science / Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
· No required professional experience in engineering.
· Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
· Bachelor’s level degree in Naval Architecture or Civil Engineering.
· Engineer In Training (EIT).
· 3+ years professional experience in engineering.
· Experience related to aircraft carriers, naval ships, or large ship design, construction, or maintenance.
Work Environment
This position is located at SUPSHIP / Newport News Shipbuilding and supports shipbuilder coordination support, modernization and lifecycle integration support, technical planning and waterfront coordination activities, and interface support between Government and shipbuilder organizations.

The ideal candidate is an early-career naval architect or engineer with strong analytical skills, engineering fundamentals, interest in Navy ship programs, and the ability to support technical planning, data analysis, field work, and coordination with shipbuilder and Government stakeholders.
