The Transportation Manager will be fully knowledgeable in all Government and Commercial Traffic Management functions and processes. The candidate will oversee a freight terminal responsible for arranging transportation for all issue transactions.
Job Responsibilities:
• Directs employees engaged in planning outbound shipping loads, scheduling movement of outbound shipments to include air, surface, small parcel, and sea IAW all applicable contracts
• Complete required documentation and data entry functions to include Bills of Lading (BOLs), manifests and all other forms of transportation documentation.
• Establish deadlines, priorities, and work sequences IAW general work schedules, methods, and policies established by the Site Manager and/or Alternate Site Manager.
• Redirect workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work and to accommodate daily workload fluctuations.
• Conduct planning of current and future work schedules, providing workload data, estimates, information on staffing needs, and recommendations as to the scheduling of projected work.
• Uses WMS and other Government Data Systems to perform the requirements in the PWS.
Required:
• Experience shall include a minimum three (3) years of experience in transportation using WMS or equivalent automated WMS within the past five (5) years
• Experience with the Global Freight Management System
• U.S. Citizen
• Must be able to obtain a security clearance
